The SecTrail server is positioned on your internal network and integrated with your appropriate service servers, such as VPN, Firewall or multi-factor authentication, that you want to apply, allowing you to enhance the security of your network.
A user who wants to provide remote access over an external network makes a connection request to the server hosting this service.
The service server redirects the incoming request to the SecTrail server with the username and password information, requesting authentication.
SecTrail performs user authentication through its own system or local authentication servers, depending on the established configuration. Upon successful initial authentication, a second-factor authentication request is sent to the service server for each session, and a one-time password generated for each session is sent to the user's registered phone number or email address via SMS or email.
Alternatively, the user can safely use the software key generated with the SecTrail Authenticator mobile application as a one-time password
The user is verified with a second authentication step using a one-time password obtained through SMS or email, or a password generated with the SecTrail Authenticator mobile application, and successful requests gain access to the service.
