Pulse Connect Secure Integration

The hijacking of user credentials poses a risk of unauthorized access to accounts. Nowadays, it is possible with the SecTrail verification server to provide additional security steps to solve such problems. In this document, you can find information about providing two-factor authentication for SecTrail and Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN via one-time password (SMS, Email, SoftOTP).

Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN Integration with SecTrail

1. 1. SSL VPN traffic flow in Pulse Secure Connect Integration

   2. Via Pulse Connect Secure SSL VPN, information (username and password) is sent to the SecTrail server as a RADIUS request,

   3. SecTrail authenticates the user (Active Directory, Database, etc.) and forwards the RADIUS response to Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN. If the authentication is successful, SecTrail sends the one-time password via SMS or E-mail to the address obtained from the user information in the database (AD, LDAP, Local). An external SMS Proxy or E-Mail server is used during the sending phase. In case of using SoftOTP, the password is generated via the SecTrail Authenticator mobile application.

   4. If the answer is successful, Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN displays the second screen to the user,

   5. The user enters the one-time password generated by SMS, E-Mail or SecTrail Authenticator mobile application transmitted by SecTrail,

   6. Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN transmits the one-time password to SecTrail' as a RADIUS request,

   7. SecTrail validates the one-time password, forwards its response to Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN,

   8. If the answer is successful, Pulse Connect Secure SSLVPN starts the session, allowing the user access.
